I recently stayed at the Cornstalk Hotel in the French Quarter and while it has some charm, it had its downsides too. The place is definitely unique with its historical décor and comfy beds, but I found our ground floor room to be pretty small with a minuscule bathroom. The noise from the street was noticeable, especially since I stumbled in during Mardi Gras. Overall, it was a decent experience with some quirks.

Rooms

My room on the ground floor was luxurious yet quite small, and the tiny bathroom made it a bit cramped. I’ve heard the second floor has larger rooms, but those must be pricier.
Service
8.0
I can't complain about the staff; they were super friendly and went out of their way to help make my late arrival smooth. They really added to the experience.
Location
10.0
The hotel’s location is its biggest selling point—right in the thick of the French Quarter but just far enough from the wildness of Bourbon Street to find some peace.
Dining
6.0
I didn't dine at the hotel, but I noticed the dining area was ornate and pretty, adding to the historical vibe.
Facilities

While the hotel has a quaint ambiance, some public areas could use more thorough cleaning. It’s got character, but a little upkeep would go a long way.

6.4/10

My stay at Cornstalk Hotel was quite nice, thanks to its charming decor and perfect location in the French Quarter. However, the noise level was a significant drawback, especially during Mardi Gras. While the staff was friendly and helpful, the public areas could use a bit more attention in terms of cleanliness.

Rooms

My room had beautiful stained glass windows and stunning wallpaper, but it felt a bit small for a 'Deluxe' room. I would have loved more than one chair for relaxing.

Location

The hotel's location is unbeatable for exploring the vibrant French Quarter, with easy access to local food and entertainment. However, some rooms might lack privacy due to their proximity to outdoor areas.
Dining

The dining area was ornate and beautiful, which I really appreciated, but it could have offered a bit more variety. The fresh bread rolls were a nice touch.
Facilities

While the shared balcony was a lovely spot to relax and watch the parades, I felt that some common areas could benefit from a deeper clean and maintenance.

My stay at Cornstalk Hotel was filled with charm, thanks to its historic ambiance and prime location in the French Quarter. I loved being able to walk to so many attractions. However, I did have some issues with the cleanliness of the carpet in my room which was disappointing. Overall, the friendly staff and good architecture made it a nice experience.

The royal view premier room was spacious and beautiful, although the shower was tricky to use and the curtains weren't dark enough, waking me up too early.

Staying at the Cornstalk Hotel was a unique experience, with its historic charm and access to the vibrant French Quarter being highlights. However, the smaller size of the room and the lack of modern amenities detracted from the overall comfort. The friendly staff and clean environment shone through, making for an enjoyable visit despite a few downsides.

The hotel has a shared balcony overlooking Royal Street, which is great for people watching, but I missed having a pool or additional amenities. It felt a bit barebones for what I expected.

However, I did encounter some noise issues, particularly during the lively Mardi Gras season. The location made it easy to explore the French Quarter, but I would have preferred a quieter environment for restful sleep.
